Forster Elliott

Once the home of J R Elliott (Sonny) whose fleet of milk lorries collected and drew the milk from all the farms for miles around to Lisnaskea creamery. Sonny also ran a taxi service which was very useful in an area where there is no public transport.

The late Wm Forster farm

This picture is of a farmstead (the late Wm. Forster’s) which is no longer occupied but was very alive and very typical of the area in the 1950’s when the picture was taken. The large rick of hay in the top right of the picture contained about 50 rucks. The farm buildings pre-date the silo and lying-in sheds of to-day.
