County Fermanagh & County Leitrim play host to the Kingfisher Cycle Trail. The trail starts in the county town of Enniskillen and makes a 'figure of 8' pattern, so no matter where you join the route you will end up in Enniskillen! It covers over 300 miles of public roadway winding through breath taking rural countryside, the scenic Lakelands, Atlantic Coast and Mountain Trail. Some sections will take you through very mountainous areas with some steep inclines, making the Kingfisher Trail a challenge for even the most hardy of cyclist. Depending which way you leave from Enniskillen, you can follow a number of shorter trails which can last anything from a day or you could easily make a week out of it by stopping off at the many sights along the way. Independent travel offers the best opportunity for those who like complete freedom. There are lots of B&B's dotted along the route, so you can stop at the end of a hard day sight-seeing and get a hearty meal and good nights rest, ready for the next exciting leg of your adventure.

Safety Advise

Although the route follows quiet country roads for the most part, you will meet local traffic. Care should be taken while cycling on roads with blind corner's/summit's and if travelling on a busier 'main' road.
